For this week's reading group on Wednesday, we will begin our Decision
Making series with Anurag presenting some basic concepts of Decision
Making, with connection for Machine Learning. This session is planned to
cover the following points:
* Why is decision making important overall
* How is decision making relevant to ML
* Basics of statistical decision making
* Decision making rules (Bayes, Minmax, Pareto optimal, Nash
Equilibrium)
* Utility and Probabilities (Axioms of rationality, utility
construction and Betting interpretation of probability)
The session will take place at 14:30 (on Wednesday) in CISPA's D2
building, room 1.16 and via the usual Zoom link, which you can find from
the google sheet.
